Questions & Answers

Everything you need to use the WPS app — sign in, RSVP, see the schedule, and score your matches.

New here? The most important thing each week is to RSVP for the session so we know you're coming and can build the schedule. Jump straight to that section below.

RSVP for games

How do I RSVP for a session?
  1. Open the app and go to Upcoming Sessions. You can get there from the Home screen (the “RSVP for next Wednesday” tile) or the Me tab at the bottom.
  2. Find the session you want — each card shows the date, start time, number of courts, and when signups close.
  3. Tap I'm in.

That's it. The card will then show “✓ You're in — see you Wednesday.” You're confirmed.

The session is full — what happens when I tap “I'm in”?

If every confirmed spot is already taken, you're added to the waitlist instead, and you'll see “⏳ You're on the waitlist.”

You don't need to do anything else — if a confirmed player drops out, the app automatically promotes the next person on the waitlist (in the order they signed up). If that's you, your status flips to “You're in.”

How do I cancel or drop out?

Open Upcoming Sessions, find the session, and tap Drop out. You'll be asked to confirm.

Dropping out frees your spot and automatically moves the first person on the waitlist into it — so the earlier you cancel, the better for everyone.

Drop out within 24 hours of game time and the full 80 AED still applies — a court was reserved for you — even if you no-show. Please settle it before the next session: until any balance is cleared, you won't be able to sign up for future games. Cancel earlier than 24 hours and there's no charge.

If it's last-minute, message Ryo directly on WhatsApp as well.

When do signups close?

Each session card shows its own cutoff, e.g. “Signups close Tue, May 26, 6:00 PM.” After that time the I'm in and Drop out buttons disappear and the card reads “Signups closed.”

We close signups before the night so the schedule and pairings can be built. If something changes after the cutoff, message Ryo.

Does RSVP'ing guarantee I'll play?

A confirmed spot (“You're in”, not the waitlist) reserves your place. The weekly line-up — courts, rounds, and partners — is built from the confirmed players and published on the Schedule page, usually a day or two before.

If you're on the waitlist, you're only in once you've been promoted to a confirmed spot.

I don't see any sessions to RSVP for.

If Upcoming Sessions says “No upcoming sessions are open right now,” the next session hasn't been opened for signups yet.

Sessions open a few days ahead — watch for the announcement on WhatsApp and email, then check back. If you think you're missing one, message the committee.

I RSVP'd — what's next?
  1. Pay the session fee using the Ziina link posted in that week's match list (pay before you play).
  2. Check the Schedule once it's published to see your courts, rounds, and partners.
  3. Show up on time — we start at the scheduled time.

Getting started

How do I get access to the app?

Already a member? If you've never logged in before, claim your account with the email the committee has on file — you'll set a password.

New player? WPS is referral-based. Apply to join and the committee reviews each application.

How do I sign in?

Go to Sign in and enter your email and password. You'll stay signed in on that device, so you won't have to log in every week.

I forgot my password / I was given a temporary one.

Use Forgot password to reset it by email.

If the committee set you up with a temporary password, the app will prompt you to choose your own the first time you sign in.

How do I add WPS to my phone like an app?

Follow the quick steps on the Install on Home Screen page (iPhone/Safari and Android/Chrome). Once added, WPS opens full-screen with its own icon — one tap to the schedule, RSVP, and live scoring.

Using the app

Where do I see this week's schedule?

The Schedule page shows the full line-up for the week — every court, round, and pairing — once it's published. Your own rounds are also highlighted on the Home screen.

Where are my stats, match history, and partners?

Open My Profile for your matches played, wins, win rate, recent results, and your best partners. Society-wide standings are on the Rankings page.

Can I invite friends?

Yes — your profile has a personal invite link you can share. Anyone who applies through it is tied to your invite, and the committee reviews each one.

Where are the match photos and member perks?

Match-night photos live in the Album. Member deals and merch are on the Merch & Perks page.

Scoring matches

Who keeps score?

Whoever is resting that round keeps score on the court phone. One phone per court — each one scores its own court independently.

How do I record a score?

From the Schedule, find your court's row and tap ▶ Score this match — the court and all four players are filled in for you. Tap start, add a point each rally, and save.

Full step-by-step (with screenshots) is on the How to Use page.

Paying & rules

How do I pay for a session?

The session fee covers court costs. Pay using the Ziina link posted in each week's match list — before you play.

What's the cancellation policy?

Give as much notice as you can. If you can't make it, Drop out in the app and, for short-notice changes, give 24 hours' notice directly to Ryo on WhatsApp.

Where are the full community rules?

They're on the Community Rules page — be on time, pay before you play, respect the schedule, keep score, and keep it friendly.
